In the Name of God Amen I John Jessep of the Parish of Great Missenden in the County of Bucks Labouring man being of a sound mind and perfect Understanding praised be God for it do make and Ordain this as my Last Will and Testament which is in manner and form as follows Viz. First of all I Commit my Soul into the hand of Almighty God who gave it in hope of Eternal Life through the mediation of Jesus Christ and my Body I Commit to its Mother Earth to be Discretely Interrd at the Discretion of my Executor herein after named In hope of a Glorious Resurrection at the Last Day and as touching all other Wordly Goods as it hath pleased God to Gift me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in manner and form as follows Viz. Imprimis (that is to say) First of all I give and bequeath unto my Nephew William Jessep Son of William Jessep of the parish of Beaconsfield in the County of Bucks all and Singular my personal estate as Monies Mortgages Bonds Notes of hand and every thing that is mine or in any Wise appertains unto me constituting him Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament only paying out of that same the Following Legacies Viz. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Brother William Jessep as aforsaid the sum of One Shilling of Good and Lawful Money of Great Britain but my Will and pleasure is that my Executor the aforsaid William Jessep shall be Bound to who or whom person or persons I shall owe by word of Mouth any Sum or Sums proving I am answerable to what I say before sufficient Witness shall be paid by the aforsaid William Jessep my Executor -- Witness the Mark × of John Jessep (& S) Signed Seald and Declared by the witness named John Jessep the Testor to be his Last Will and Testament in the presences of us and now I do hereby Ratifiy and Confirm this and no other to be my Last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this third Day of March In the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Four == The Mark × of John Jessep == Witness James Witney -- Thos Stevens

Whereas I the above named John Jessop have duly Executed my last Will the third Day of March One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Four do add this as a Codicill to my said Will Next if my Effects should exceed with my present property the Sum of Ten Pounds after every just Due and is paid and also my funeral expences I give and bequeath unto Thomas Stevens of Great Missenden in the County of Bucks Draper the Sum of Five pounds of Lawful Money of Great Britain In Witness whereof I aforsaid John Jessop have here unto sett my hand this Fourteenth Day of April One thousand Seven hundred and ninety Six == The Mark of the said × John Jessop == John Payne -- William Stevens

This Will was proved at London with a Codicil the fourth day of March in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Seven before the Worshipful Samuel Pearce Parson Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury Court of Canterbury Lawfully Constituted by the Oath of William Jezeph by mistake in the Will Called Jessep the younger the Sole Executor named in the said Will to who in administration was granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased having been first Sworn Duly to administer
